Natsumi is the daughter of Hachiman, the Japanese god of war, protection, and the warrior spirit. Like her father, Natsumi is a skilled warrior. She’s a master of many forms of armed and unarmed combat, and she has a fierce competitive and protective soul. In addition to her combat prowess, Natsumi has a keen tactical mind, able to assess a combat situation and execute a plan on divine instinct alone. She can also conjure a variety of martial weapons and she is much stronger than she looks.
Despite her divine and traditional origins, Natsumi always felt a lure toward the alternative scenes. Her mother worked for a Japanese music label that signed metal and punk bands. Natsumi loved the fashion and culture of it all, and took to dressing like many of the bands. When they emigrated to the U.S., Natsumi entered fashion school to create her own punk fashion style. Shortly after graduating, she apprenticed to a tattoo artist and eventually opened her own shop.
Natsumi has been a professional tattoo artist for a little over a year. She specializes in tattooing creatures that normal artists can’t, like ghosts, vampires, and werewolves. Her divine energy blesses her needles and allows them to inflict lasting harm on these creatures. She’s also known for her knowledge of exorcism and divination techniques. While these aren’t her preferred line of work, she’ll usually take on cases brought to her shop.
